Firefly: New Flight Connections from Malaysia to Singapore |
|
Firefly, Malaysia Airline’s regional airline, will be offering flights headed for Singapore from various destinations in Malaysia starting from July, 2009. This will include four flights a day departing from Kuala Lumpur’s city airport SkyPark Subang headed for Singapore (Changi Budget Terminal), with the corresponding four flights a day from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur. Firefly will also offer four flights a week (Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Sunday) from Ipoh to Singapore and from Singapore to Ipoh.
The airline will also connect Malaysia’s east coast to Singapore: There will be three flights (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) from Kuala Terengganu to Singapore, as well as four flights (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) departing from Kuantan. Flights from Singapore to Terengganu and Kuantan, respectively, will depart on the same days of the week.

Firefly Begin Subang-Singapore Flight Today |
|
KUALA LUMPUR, July 1 -- Malaysia's first community airline, Firefly, Wednesday officially commenced its Singapore-Subang and return flight.
The airline in a statement said the commencement of the thrice-daily flights, signifies its commitment to providing direct access by air to other states in Malaysia.
It said the route, which had three flights daily will have an additional frequency, making it four times daily, effective July 12.
"Our new routes into Singapore further strengthens Firefly's network while focusing on travellers for business and leisure.
"It also completes our promotion of "One Destination, Four Countries"," managing director Eddie Leong said.
He said the carrier was offering an introductory promotional all-inclusive one way fare at RM88.00 nett for the Singapore-Subang flight.

MASwings To Start Kuching-Mulu Flight Sept 15 |
|
KUCHING -- MASwings Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines (MAS), will start direct flights from Kuching to Mulu from Sept 15 2009 to boost the tourist arrivals in Sarawak.
Its managing director, Mohd Salleh Ahmad Tabrani, said MASwings would provide three direct flights a week using ATR 72-500 and Fokker 50 (F-50) to Mulu, dubbed the 'Crown Jewel of Sarawak'.
"The flights will be between 11am and noon to enable passengers arriving here to take an immediate connection flight to Mulu. MASwings hopes they will boost tourist arrivals in Mulu and other destinations in Sarawak," he told a media briefing after paying a courtesy call on Chief Minister Sarawak Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud here Friday.

'Glow' Of Crystals Lure Tourists To Gunung Keriang |

ALOR STAR -- Shimmering, glimmering and sparkling.
Those are the apt description on why admirers of crystals turned such stones into decorative items apart from making them accessories for women.
There is also a belief that the crystals posses certain healing powers that could rejuvenate the human body.
Realising that there is value in the crystals, some enterprising inhabitants who live near Gunung Keriang, located some 8.0 km from here, have converged on the mountain to look for these treasures.
According to the Kedah State Tourism Action Council (MTPNK) president, Datuk Othman Aziz, crystals that can be found on Gunung Keriang were unique in their own right and have high potential in the tourism industry.

Plan for amphibian flights to islands |
|
KUALA TERENGGANU: Tourists intending to go to the holiday islands off the coast here will be able to take amphibian flights without needing to depend on the time-consuming ferry services.
The Terengganu government has plans to introduce such flights following mounting complaints from tourists about the erratic and packed boat services to the holiday islands.
Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said acknowledged that the state government should relook into providing more efficient transportation mode for holidaymakers wanting a weekend getaway.

Airasia To Launch Colombo-KL Route |
|
KUALA LUMPUR -- Low cost carrier, AirAsia will be launching its new route between Kuala Lumpur and Colombo, Sri Lanka this August.
The maiden flight will be on August 15, following which there will be daily direct flights between the two capital cities, it said in a statement here Wednesday.
The low cost carrier said promotional all-in fares are being offered from as low as LKR4,090 (RM99) one-way and exclusively available online via AirAsia's website at www.airasia.com.
Booking for promotional seats ends June 14, 2009 for travel between Aug 15, 2009 and April 30, 2010.
